Founder bio

Hello, I’m Liam – I am a computer scientist, University of Cambridge alumnus, and a lifetime software engineer. As an early hire at a wildly successful quantitative hedge fund, I spent years building systems that manage billions in assets with high precision and security.

In 2024, a hospital stay made me realize my family wouldn't have been able to access my assets or digital life. I believe there's an urgent need for better tools to protect individual legacies – digital and otherwise. That’s why I started Upon: to empower everyone to securely pass on what matters most.
